Tutoring, mentorship, and career readiness for students ages 10–18.
Ages 10–18
After-School Academy
Monday through Thursday, 3:30–6:00 PM at 14 Chicago locations. Trained tutors help students in grades 5–12 with homework, test prep, and subject-area tutoring in math, science, reading, and writing. Snacks provided; transportation assistance available.
Eligibility: students ages 10–18 attending Chicago Public Schools or a partner school.
Ages 12–17
Mentor Connect
Our flagship program pairs students with vetted adult professionals for one-on-one mentoring over a minimum 12-month commitment. Mentors meet their student at least twice a month, in person or virtually, and receive full training and ongoing support.
Mentors include engineers, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, and attorneys. Background check required.
Career Launch, step by step
A 16-week program each spring for students ages 16–18. Space is limited to 40 participants.

Common questions
When can my student enroll in After-School Academy?
Enrollment opens at the start of each semester, and we maintain a waitlist throughout the year. Contact us or ask your school counselor.
When do Career Launch applications open?
Each December, for the following spring cohort. Priority goes to students who have participated in After-School Academy or Mentor Connect.
What does becoming a mentor involve?
A minimum 12-month commitment, meeting your student at least twice a month. Volunteer applications are open year-round and a background check is required.
